Where else can you visit multiple boarding schools all at once - right from your kitchen table! With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and family budgets getting tighter and tighter, we’re all challenged to find new ways to do things. So, instead of traveling around the continent looking for the right prep school, hop online to conveniently learn about your options and make initial admissions visits. Then you can hone in on your short list of schools, schedule a visit to see each campus and see your favorites!
The dynamic nature of these Expos is similar to a school fair or tradeshow except it’s a “virtual,” online environment. Like a physical event, there are exhibit halls, auditoriums, school booths, and presentations for attendees. You can browse schools, chat live with admission reps, view myriad video presentations, download materials and more—all through an online 3D environment on your computer. Regardless of your location, you can login as long as you have access to a high-speed Internet connection and Flash Player 10 (or newer) installed.
On the live dates, go to boardingschoolexpos.com and click the “Login Now” button on the home page. (If you haven't registered yet, now is the time!) A new window will open where you can enter your email address and unique password. This allows you to enter the Boarding School Expo Central Campus. Then, just click on the icons on the "toolbar" at the bottom of the screen to move between different areas of the Expo. The toolbar also includes a Virtual Briefcase you can use to collect downloadable materials from the schools you visit. Take a look now and get used to things if you like!
The Expos use Flash Player 10 or newer, and a high-speed Internet connection. Put simply, if you can watch videos on YouTube, you should be fine.
With too many open tasks, even a fast computer with a fast connection can become slow or unresponsive. Try closing any windows and applications you're not using to maximize event performance.
Computer difficulties are frustrating for everyone. To determine the cause of your problem, let’s narrow down the possibilities:
All attendees must register with a valid email address before entering an Expo and no two registrants can use the same one. You can also use the Password Reset form to create a new password for your registered e-mail address. When resetting your password, make sure you type your email address exactly and check your spam folder for the reset email if you don’t receive it within a few minutes.
Email support@6connex.zendesk.com and provide details about problems you’re having. Please provide your contact information in the email, including email address and phone number. Additional information about your type of machine, Internet connection and Internet browser will help our support staff resolve issues as quickly as possible.
After entering a content screen, just click on the desired video you wish to view.
To gather information, go to the materials you want from any school booth and click “View” to preview, or choose to add it to your virtual bookbag! You can always log back in to your Expo profile and view your bookbag contents or download them to your computer.
Yes. Expo attendees, school representatives and sponsors can set their view of attendees to see others in the same location. "Talking" to them through the live chat tool will also let them know you're in their booth. Just click the Info & Representatives icon to the top right of the booth or area you’re in, and you’ll see a list of attendees.
The most immediate way to reach someone is to use the live chat in each environment. By clicking on the Social Collaboration tab at the far left, you can launch the Social Collaboration Network (SCN), your communication hub. From there you can send and receive both text and video messages. You can also initiate private one-to-one text and video chats, one-to-many video chats (video chats can have a total of 4 participants), or access the list of public chat forums that are taking place within the environment you’re visiting. While in the SCN you can search for people based on their personal attributes, experience and more. You can also create a list of friends or schools.
